What are shooting games? For years, gambling on the internet has been called online gaming or iGaming for short. Yet, most people, unfamiliar with the term, think that it relates to online video games. While they’re not essentially wrong, online video games and online gambling do not have much in common. However, many game providers have tried to bridge the gap between the two industries. And now it seems that has been achieved with shooting games and TaDa Gaming is leading the pack.
Gambling is mostly an individual activity, whereas video games can be played online with multiple participants. Some of the most popular video games are RPG games, where you go around shooting and collecting goodies. Online casino games vary into slots, live casino, table games, video poker and casual games. With so many slots available online, many game providers have started targeting the niche casual games market.
Carnival Games Enter Into the Mix
As a kid growing up, one of my favourite memories, was attending a local Fair that took place once a year in my hometown. We had all the popular carnival rides, from Ferris wheels to roller coasters. But what attracted me the most, were the carnival game stands.
Two games in particular that I enjoyed the most, were a shooting game and a darts game. In the former, you have to shoot water into a clown’s mouth. When the water exceeds a certain level, then you win a prize. In the darts game you have a big chipboard covered in blue, red and white pin stripes. Both the blue and red striped are wider than the white stripes, and you have one go each round to throw a dart at the board.
This dart game was my first experience with gambling, at age 11. Before you could throw your dart at the board, you needed to place a wager on which coloured stripe you hoped the dart would hit. As you can probably guess, Red and Blue stripes paid out less, at 1:1 and White stripes, being harder to hit, paid out 2:1. A game like this will not be found today at your local fairs, as in today’s world it would be restricted to participants aged 18 or above.
So as you can see, paying to play a game with the chance of winning a prize, is essentially the same as gambling. And it’s these types of games that have started to fill up the casual games portfolios at online casinos. They are basically arcade games that you can gamble on. Besides popular crash games, you can find other popular arcade games, such as Coin Dozer, Plinko, Claw Vending Machines, Whack a Mole and Shooting Games.
What Are Shooting Games
Unlike crash games where you bet on a flying aeroplane, and try to cash out before it crashes, shooting games involve a shooting mechanic. So, like our carnival clown, you place a wager, then aim and shoot at your target hoping to eliminate it and win a cash multiplier. BetSoft were one of the first game providers to come up with this game concept many years ago. However, the casino community was not yet ready for it. So, Max Quest took a while to generate popularity among players.
Today, you can find a lot of shooting games online, with different themes. But one main objective remains, you need to aim and shoot at the targets running, flying or swimming across your screen. Think of these games as new and updated versions of the old Nintendo Duck Hunt game from the early 90s.
Fish Shooting Games
At Fishingslots.co.uk, we’re into all fishing themed games. So, naturally, fish shooting games are our cup of tea. Just imagine yourself lying on the seabed near a coral reef, in your camo wetsuit with spear gun, waiting for a big fish to swim by. In these fishing games, your goal is to shoot at any sea creatures that swim across your screen.
The bigger the target, the higher the prize. TaDa Gaming is the front-runner in this genre, and they even boldly came to be the #1Fishing-Shooting Game Provider”.
Lightning Happy Fishing Shooting
TaDa currently have two fishing games. The first one, Lightning Happy Fishing is a shooter game, where you can win up to 950x from taking down a big shark. Moreover, you can upgrade your bullets to rocket launchers, for dealing more damage. Every shot you fire, costs a bet. So, you need to pay attention to your balance, because it can deplete quickly, especially on auto fire. Lastly, you have a choice between three rooms: Newbie, Joy and Honor which offer different levels of volatility.
Ocean Hunter Shooting
Tada’s 2nd fish shooting game is Ocean Hunter. Similar to Lightning Happy Fishing, Ocean Hunter is also about shooting sea creatures. Here too, you have 3 different volatility levels. Moreover, 2 new added bonus features have been added to the game. Firstly, you have rainbow-coloured dolphins, which trigger win multipliers applied to winnings. Secondly, you can trigger a Lucky Wheel which awards random bonus multipliers up to 1,000x.
Overview
An influx of casual games have poured into online casinos in recent months. These include games from top game providers such as EyeCon and Hacksaw Gaming. While crash games are very popular, shooting games are growing in popularity. But will they be approved for launch in the UK? Probably not, and we’ll explain why.
Firstly, auto spins are forbidden in the UK. So, you would not be able to use the auto fire option when playing. Thus, you rely on your click speed for each fired shot and possibly missing out on target fish or creatures. Secondly, every fired shot is a wagered bet. So, from a responsible gambling point of view, you will not be in control of how many bets you place before you receive a prize. So, in our honest opinion, we don’t think we’ll see these games in the UK anytime soon. However, if you live outside of the UK, then try them out. They are a lot of fun.
