Andavari Base Game Features
There are several features that trigger directly from the base game in Andvari The Golden Fish. You will need to land a special symbol or collect special symbols to activate the features.
Bubble Bang
When a Golden Fish in a bubble appears anywhere on the reels, a Bubble Bang feature is activated. You then enter a special bonus game where you pop bubbles to collect fish and win a jackpot prize. Whichever types of fish you collect determines your jackpot prize, up to 5,000x.
- Mini Jackpot: 15x your bet
- Minor Jackpot: 40x your bet
- Major Jackpot: 500x your bet
- Grand Jackpot: 5,000x your bet
Coin Collect & Andvari Wild Reel
Each reel in the game has a coin meter on top. As you spin the reels, you will notice coins appearing on them. Each time a coin lands on a reel, it is collected in the coin meter. Once you collect 4 coins and fill up a meter, then that reel will become an Andvari Wild Reel.
The Andvari Wild Reel feature transforms all positions on the triggered reel into wild symbols. Wilds remains in place for the next 4 spins in the base game. If an Andvari Wild Reel feature is triggered during the bonus round, then the wild reel stays active for all remaining free spins.
Free Spins Boost
If you’ve played other fishing slots from Games Globals studios before, then you might recognize this feature. It’s identical to Unusual Catch, Fish Em Up and Riptide Fishing slots. It seems that all studios in the network, share slot mechanics with each other. Every time you land only 2 scatter symbols, they’re added to the meter. When you fill up the meter, you then need to land 3 scatters to receive boosted free spins in the bonus round, with win multipliers up to 10x and 2 guaranteed wild reels.
Andvari The Golden Fish Bonus Game
In the bonus round, the background changes to the inside of a cave with Andavari half buried in gold coins. If you’re old enough to remember, this reminds us of the classic DuckTales cartoon from the 90’s with Scrooge McDuck. Landing scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 will award you 12 free spins in the bonus round. If you have already filled up the free spins boost meter, then you receive enhanced free spins in the bonus round. Collect gold coins to activate persistent wild reels. You can also activate the Bubble Bang feature in the round for a jackpot prize win.
Andvari The Golden Fish FAQ
If you reside in a region that allows bonus buys, then you can do so for 65x your betting stake. However, there is no bonus buy option for a boosted free spins.
RTP is set at 96.24% in the base game and slightly increases with a bonus buy. But make sure to check which version you are playing on, as some casinos might have lower RTP versions.
The maximum win is 5,000x your bet.
Once you trigger a Bubble Bang feature, you need to collect fish for a jackpot prize. Depending on which fish you collect, you can win one of 4 prizes: Mini (15x), Minor (40x), Major (500x), Grand (5,000x).
Conclusion
Boosted free spins are a nice addition to any slot game. But, similar to “heart stoppers”, you spend a lot of money until you fill up the meter. Furthermore, boosted spins are only triggered when enough scatters are collected. So, completing the meter, still requires more bets before you get to enjoy the wild reels and win multipliers. Therefore, chasing boosted spins could be a budget killer.
In general, this game is a re-skin of Fintastic Fishing with elements from other Games Global games. When it comes to the theme, Andvari is from Norwegian mythology and so it’s nice to see a change of scenery to classic fishing slots. Besides the jackpot prize feature, there is no classic fish collection sequences. However, 5,000x wins are always well received. If you want to give this slots a go, then you won’t be disappointed.
