How To Play Beware the Deep Quick Guide
Playing Beware the Deep Megaways is not complicated. You might get thrown off by the horizontal reel, but as soon as you understand the layout of the grid, it is easy. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started.
- Choose Your Bet: Start by setting your bet from £0.20 to £240. If you want to use the Ante Bet option, then activate it.
- Spin the Reels: Once your bet is set, it’s time to spin. Winning combinations start from the leftmost reel.
- Tumbles: After a win, all winning symbols are cascaded and replaced by new symbols. The betting round continues until no more wins appear.
- Trigger Free Spins: Landing four or more scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins feature. You’ll then choose between two Free Spins modes.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
Beware the Deep Megaways has 10 common symbols. Firstly, card symbols (10, J, Q, K and A) make up low paying symbols. Bells, Rum Bottles, Harpoons, Chests and Shark Warning Signs are high paying symbols.
In order to generate wins, you will need to land 3 of the same symbol adjacently on a pay line, from left to right. Shark signs are the top paying symbol, and they only require at least 2 symbols for a win. Low paying symbols pay out between 0.1x – 0.75x. Whereas, high paying symbols pay out more (0.2x – 5x). These may seem low payouts, but you need to remember that there are cascading wins. So, you can accumulate more wins on one spin.
Special Symbols
In addition to common symbols, Beware the Deep Megaways also has 3 special symbols: Wilds, Scatters and Mystery Symbols.
Shark Wild Symbol
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except scatters, and they carry a 2x – 100x multiplier. It can only land on the horizontal reel.
Shark Cage Scatter Symbol
Cages are scatter symbols. Landing four or more scatters anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spins feature. You get a choice between two modes.
Seaweed Mystery Symbol
Mystery symbols are another common megaways feature. When they land they turn into one specific common symbol. They help form winning combos.
Beware the Deep Megaways Bonus Game
Beware the Deep is quite generous and gives you two bonus game modes to choose from. To trigger the bonus, you need to land four or more scatter symbols. 4 shark cages awards you 10 free spins, and you receive an extra 2 spins for each additional scatter landed. You can land up to 7 scatters for a max of 16 free spins.
Free Spins Gamble
You can also gamble for more free spins or a higher multiplier when you manage to trigger the bonus feature. Unless you landed the max 7 scatters then you are not able to get more free spins or starting multiplier at the start of the feature. This is done with a win-or-lose wheel.
Two Bonus Modes
As mentioned above there are two bonus game modes to choose from:
- Deep Free Spins: Each win increases the win multiplier by 1x, without any cap. Wild multipliers also add their values to the increasing multiplier. Landing 2+ scatters gives extra free spins.
- Even Deeper Free Spins: Here your bonus round starts with a predetermined guaranteed multiplier. This multiplier is based on the number of bonus symbols that triggered the feature. When your bonus game’s multiplier catches up to the guaranteed multiplier, the bonus round ends.
Main Bonus Game
Once you’ve selected your mode, the bonus will begin. Watch out for wild symbols and mystery symbols as they can really increase your winnings. Firstly, mystery symbols are replaced with a random common symbol. So, if you land mystery symbols across all reels with a high paying symbol, on a big multiplier, then you’ll receive a big win. Seaweed is the mystery symbol in this game, like in Razor Shark.
Secondly, wild symbols have bigger multipliers in the bonus round. if in the base game multipliers range from 2x- 25x, then in the bonus game they range from 2x – 100x. Moreover, if a wild is not involved in a winning combo, with the bottom reel, then when it moves one step forward its multiplier is added again to the total.
Beware the Deep Megaways FAQs
To trigger the Free Spins feature, you need to land four or more scatter symbols. This will give you the option to choose between Deep Free Spins and Even Deeper Free Spins bonus rounds. You can also gamble for more spins.
Even Deeper mode offers a guaranteed win multiplier with a cap and endless free spins. Whereas, regular bonus game mode starts from 1x and has no cap, but with a set amount of spins. Even Deeper mode ends when bonus game multiplier catches up to the guaranteed multiplier. Whereas, Deeper mode ends when there are no more spins left.
The maximum win in Beware the Deep Megaways is 10,000x. Compared to other popular shark slots, it’s a bit lower, but still appealing.
