Beware The Shark by IGT, is a shark themed slot. Shark themed slots are often more volatile slots, which is what many players prefer. This slot comes with a bunch of features such as Great White Riches with either Roaming Wild or Dangerous Waters free spins. Moreover, you also have Stacked Wilds & Roaming Wilds. Gameplay is played on a 5×3 grid with 20 pay lines, but can expand to 5×4 and 30 lines in the bonus round. Let’s see if this slot is a ‘Jawsome’ win, or just a toothless fish in a large slot pond.

How To Play Beware the Shark Demo
After you’ve read our quick step guide to playing Beware the Shark slot, then either play for free in demo mode above or for real money at one of our trusted casinos. So, here’s our step-by-step guide.
- Set Your Bet: Start by setting a bet for yourself, from £0.20 up to £20. If you want an extra chance of triggering a bonus, then you can use the Ante bet option called a Shark Bet. But it’ll cost you an extra 50% on your stake amount. Now start spinning!
- Special Features: Watch out for numerous features during the game. Roaming wilds and stacked wilds can trigger re-spins to increase your wins. When you have a losing spin, a random win can trigger by the slot symbols shuffling around into a winning combo. This is similar to the squid feature in 4 Fantastic Fish. Moreover, you have Net re-spins that lock winning symbols in place and re-spins occur to land more winning symbols.
- Free Spins Bonus: Trigger the free spins bonus by landing 3 scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4. There are two types of bonus rounds available, Dangerous Waters or Super Roaming Wilds.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
There are 9 common symbols in Beware the Shark slot. Four low paying symbols and 5 high paying symbols make up the lot. Complete winning lines by landing 3 or more matching symbols on any of the game’s pay lines.
- Low-Paying Symbols: Card symbols (J, Q, K and A) have payouts of 0.2x – 2x.
- High-Paying Symbols: Green Fish, Red Fish, Turtle, Octopus and Moray Eels award payouts of 0.5x – 15x.
Special Symbols
In Beware the Shark, you also have 2 special symbols: Scatters and Wilds.
Bonus Scatters
Shark signs are the scatter symbols. Land 3 of them, on reels 2, 3 and 4 to trigger the free spins bonus round. You will then get to choose which bonus round mode you want to play.
Wild Symbols
Shark wilds substitute for any paying symbol. Moreover, they have regular line payouts too up to 25x. Landing 3 or more wilds will trigger a Roaming Wilds feature. Stacked wilds and Colliding wilds for multipliers are available in the different free spins bonus rounds.
Beware the Shark Bonus Game
To trigger a bonus, you need to land 3 scatter symbols, on reels 2, 3 and 4. Once triggered you get to choose what kind of free spin’s mode you want. You have two options: Roaming Wilds or Dangerous Waters. The moneymaker in the free spins are the persistent wilds. When they collide on the grid they will increase the win multiplier, similar to Feeding Fury. Wilds also roam around the grid on each free spin. Note that whatever mode you pick, the free spins cannot be re-triggered.
Roaming Wilds (Less Volatile): If you choose this option, then you get 10 free spins. This mode takes place on a 5×3 grid with 20 pay lines and features roaming wilds and colliding multipliers.
Dangerous Waters (More Volatile): Here you get 7 free spins on a 5×4 slot grid with 30 pay lines. Moreover, the colliding wilds in this mode not only increase the multiplier but they also turn into stacked wilds. This bonus mode offers chances for bigger wins.
Bonus Buy: A feature is available for 100x your bet. If you live in a region that allows this, then you can choose this option and skip the base game.

Land 3 Shark Sign scatter symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4 to activate the free spins. Choose between the Roaming Wilds or Dangerous Waters free spins modes.
Conclusion
Beware the Shark offers cool wild mechanics and is a step up from their other fishing slot, Cool Catch 2. The highlight of the slot are the dual free spins modes with roaming wilds, stacked wilds and multipliers. Moreover, for UK players without bonus buy options, the numerous bonus features that can randomly trigger in the base game, keep the game entertaining. Max win potential of 5,000x is pretty decent but not extraordinary. Although there are no shark predations (fish collection) this slot is still worth a flutter.
