How To Play Colossal Splash Ink & Win Quick Guide
If you want to play Colossal Splash for free, then you will need to sign up at a UK licensed casino. Once logged in, some casinos will allow you to play Colossal Splash Ink and Win in demo mode. Thus, you can catch your bearings before playing with real money. The slot has a familiar layout with a 5×3 grid so there are no odd reels or things to understand when you start spinning. Here is a quick getting-started guide:
- Set Your Bet: Before you start spinning, set your bet, from £0.10 to £20.
- Spin the Reels: When you have decided on the bet press the spin button to start spinning. Try matching 3 or more of the same symbol on a pay line for wins.
- Special Features: The free spins are triggered by landing at least 3 scatter symbols on the reels. You can also get colossal mystery symbols when the octopus randomly inks the screen. If you manage to land 3 fish during free spins, then you trigger the Ink & Win (hold & win) bonus feature.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
In Colossal Splash Ink & Win there are only 6 regular paying symbols. This is much lower compared to 9 or 10 in other fishing slots. Moreover, wild symbols also pay in this slot game.
Common symbols are comprised of the usual 5 card symbols (10, J, Q, K and A) plus a Colossal Splash Ink & Win logo symbol. Card symbols appear more frequently on the reels. Therefore, payouts are smaller and range from 0.5x – 3x. Logo symbols are more valuable and pay out between 2x – 25x.
Special Symbols
In the base game, there are also two special symbols: Wilds and Scatters. Whereas, in the bonus round additional fish symbols are added which serve as bonus modifiers.
Wild Symbol
Wilds substitute for all regular symbols and also pay the same as the highest-paying regular symbol. They can land both in the base game and bonus game.
Bonus Symbol
Landing at least 3 scatter symbols triggers the free spins. You get more free spins if you land 4 or 5 scatter symbols.
Value Fish Symbol
These symbols only appear in the bonus round. Value fish works as scatters and landing 3 during free spins, will trigger the Ink & Win bonus feature.
Collect Fish Symbol
Can appear during the Ink & Win bonus feature. It serves asa. Collector and will collect all values of fish symbols and add to them.
Add Fish Symbol
This is another bonus modifier symbol that is only available in the Ink & Win bonus feature. Adds its cash value to all fish symbols when it lands on the reels.
Base Game Features
The base game features you can trigger in Colossal Splash are the colossal mystery symbols.
Colossal Mystery Symbols can trigger on any spin when our friendly octopus is activated. He will splash some ink on the reels triggering a colossal symbol to drop. The mystery symbol can be added to reels 2, 3, 4 and can be in a 1×3, 2×3 or 3×3 formation. When the reels stop, the inked reel will all turn into the same symbol. During free spins mystery symbols can turn into any value fish symbol.
Colossal Splash Ink & Win Bonus Game
The bonus game in Colossal Splash Ink & Win is a two-stager. First, you trigger the Colossal Free Spins and from there you can trigger the hold and win feature, Ink & Win. To trigger the colossal free spins you will need to land at least 3 scatter symbols, which will give you 8 free spins. If you land 4 or 5 scatters, then you start with 10 or 12 free spins, respectively.
During the colossal free spins, value fish can appear. These fish come in 3 types: small, medium and large. The large dolphin has the highest possible values. But, they are only collectible during the Ink & Win feature. If you land 3 value fish, then you then trigger the Ink & Win feature. Colossal mystery symbols can appear more frequently during free spins and can show value fish too. You cannot re-trigger more free spins and the bonus ends when you don’t have any free spins left.
Ink & Win Feature
The Ink and win bonus feature is a hold and win bonus game. You may be familiar with these types of features from other games, such as Big Bass Hold and Spinner or Crabbin for Christmas. The reels in this feature only have value fish and empty positions. When you land a fish, it will lock in place and your lives are reset to 3. Fish symbol values are added to the feature’s win meter. When your lives run out, your total feature winnings are paid out to you. If you still have free spins left, then you will be returned to the bonus game to play them out. You can also re-trigger another Ink & Win bonus feature.
Inked Hot Zones
The Octopus will ink 5 places on the grid. the centre is always inked and these are the inked hot zones. When all hot zones have a fish the octopus will land in the middle and collect them all and removing them from the grid. Moreover, the octopus will double its value and stay on the reels, adding 4 new hot zones so it can trigger again.
Modifier Fish
There are two modifier fish in Ink & Win. Collector fish sums up all fish values on the grid and keeps that total as its own value. Add fish symbols add their cash values to all fish on the grid.
Colossal Splash Ink & Win FAQ
Any online casino that offers Light & Wonder slot games will have this fishing slot too. The game launches July 31st ,2024. So, you will only be able to play it in demo mode before it launches for real money play.
You have several special symbols in the game. But most appear in the bonus round. In the base game, you get wilds and scatters. Whereas, in the bonus round, you have 3 types of fish symbols that can trigger special bonus features and act as bonus modifiers.
Ink & Win is a hold and win bonus feature triggered by landing 3 value fish in the free spins round. You get 3 lives, which replenish every time you land a new fish symbol on the grid. Octopi and bonus modifier symbols can lead to big wins up to 18,183x.
Conclusion
Colossal Splash Ink & Win looks very nice with its clean colourful octopus-themed gameplay. Game features have nice mechanics, like Colossal Mystery Symbols, Free Spins and the Ink & Win bonus game. The RTP is good at 96% and it also offers a good-sized potential max win of 18,183x. What we feel might be a bit lacking is that you need to first land the free spins and then land symbols to trigger the next feature. Thus, making the base game a bit lackluster, as you are just waiting for the free spins to land. But it’s nice that Ink & Win can trigger several times during free spins. Overall, Colossal Splash Ink & Win is a well-crafted slot with fun bonus features. It’s also nice to see an octopus incorporated into a fishing slot again.
