Fishin Frenzy The Big Splash is one of the newer slots in the Fishing Frenzy series. It features some unique bonus features that hadn’t been implemented before in other Blueprint Gaming games. Since its launch in early 2023, Fishin Frenzy the Big Splash has become extremely popular among UK gamblers. So much so, that Blueprint recently launched another fishing slot clone with the same features, called Big Catch Bass Fishing. Big Splash is one of the most entertaining games in the slot series. Its bonus game resembles Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza slots. However, besides the bonus trail, there is also a unique Pick A Fish feature which makes this game a fan favourite.

Fishin Frenzy The Big Splash is a delightful fishing-themed slot game with a 5×3 slot grid set-up. The base game plays the same as all Fishing Frenzy slot games. Moreover, RTP is slightly lower compared to other games in the series, yet the cool bonus features make up for it with big win potential. Besides fish collections and free spins, there is also a bonus trail which can unlock bonus modifiers and win multipliers.
How To Play Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Splash Demo
Before you start playing the game, you will need to choose a betting stake. You can bet from as low as £0.10 and from as high as £50. As you spin the reels, you hope to land matching symbols across the 10 pay lines to generate wins. As in all the fishing slots series games, there are 9 common symbols (5 card symbols and the fishing theme symbols), and 3 special symbols. In addition to the base game, you also have a free spins bonus round where the real magic happens. You can either enter the bonus round via the bonus buy option, or you can land at least 3 scatter symbols on the reels in one spin.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
In Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Splash, the payout of symbols and the special symbols work as follows. In order to generate wins you need to match at least 3 symbols on a pay line, from left to right. Firstly, you have 9 regular symbols that are classed into high-paying and low-paying symbols. Secondly, you have special symbols which have more special features.
Card symbols make up the low-paying symbols in the game. These are represented by the card ranks 10-A. 10s, Js and Qs have lower payouts compared to Kings and Aces. When five of these symbols hit, they award between 5x – 10x your bet.
Next, you have high-paying symbols which are made up of tackle boxes, life rings, fishing rods and pelicans. Pelicans are the highest paying symbol with 200x for 5 of a kind. Furthermore, you only need 2 pelicans on a pay line to make a winning combination. Tackle boxes and life rings pay out up to 50x and fishing rods up to 100x.
Special Symbols
Special symbols are the Fisherman and Boats, wild and scatter symbols, respectively. But before we get to those there are also fish symbols. They can act as regular symbols too with payouts up to 20x your bet. Furthermore, they carry cash values for the bonus game.
Fisherman Symbol
The Fisherman symbol has the same value as the pelican. It can substitute for any paying symbol to help form winning combinations. However, it only appears during bonus rounds. Additionally, he collects all the fish cash prizes on the reels.
Fishing Boat Symbol
Fishing boat symbols are the scatter symbols in the game. Landing 3, 4, or 5 boat scatter symbols in the base game awards 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively.
Fishin Frenzy The Big Splash Bonus Trail
As we mentioned earlier, the real action happens in the bonus game. You can reach the bonus game in two ways:
- Base game – landing scatter symbols
- Bonus Buy – it costs 100x your bet
This feature is triggered when 3, 4, or 5 boat scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels in the base game. Thus, awarding 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. But your main is for fishermen to land and reel in as much fish as they can. During free spins, there is also a bonus trail meter at the top of the screen with milestones that you need to reach. In total, there are 12 steps along the trail with 6 achievable milestones. When fishermen land on the reels, they advance you one step on the bonus trail. Features land every 2 steps and are separated into 2 main categories:
- Pick A Fish Feature
- Fishermen Win Multipliers
Pick A Fish
When you reach a Pick A Fish milestone, you are taken to a screen full of 13 different-sized fish. You need to pick one fish to reveal a bonus modifier. There are six different bonus-enhancing features you can land.
Symbols that act as fish symbols
If any picked fish shows a pelican, life ring, tackle box or fishing rod, then that exact symbol will act as a fish symbol. Therefore, fishermen can reel them in too with their cash values.
Extra Fish
If you pick the +Fish bonus enhancer, then more fish symbols are added to the reels for the rest of the bonus game. Thus, giving you more chances of reeling in more cash wins.
Extra Fishermen
If you pick the +Fisherman, then more fishermen are added to the reels for the rest of the bonus game. So, if you land more than one fisherman on the reels it means fish are collected more than once, and you also advance quicker in the bonus trail.
Fisherman Re-spin
Probably the best enhancer you can land in the bonus game. This Fisherman re-spins is a hold-and-win feature. When the fisherman lands, the fish become sticky and the reels keep spinning to reveal more fish or cash prizes. If no new cash prizes land, then the spin is over. But, with this enhancer, your wins should accumulate very quickly.
Extra collection
If you pick a golden fisherman, then from that point on, all your fish collections will be collected an extra time by the fisherman.
Extra Spins
When you land a fishing boat enhancer, it will grant you a random number of extra spins. This can be anywhere between 2 – 10 free spins.
Fishermen Win Multipliers
As you progress along the bonus trail, you will unlock bigger win multipliers. Each milestone will grant 10 more spins and add a multiplier to all future wins collected from the fisherman. When you start off the bonus, there is no bonus multiplier. Every four steps guarantee a new win multiplier and 10 spins:
- 2x multiplier + 10 spins
- 3x multiplier + 10 spins
- 10x multiplier + 10 spins
Before your new multiplier and extra spins begin, you first play out all of the free spins that you collected when landing the scatter symbols. However, you can progress as far as possible on the trail, picking up more bonus enhancers along the way. These enhancers will come in handy when you’ve reached the higher win multipliers.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best enhancers are More Fishermen, Fisherman Re-Spin and Fisherman Collect.
If you want to play this game, then you need to choose an online casino that offers games of Blueprint Gaming. Most UK regulated sites are a good choice. Moreover, you can play on mobile devices too.
As with most Blueprint Gaming games, the bonus game rounds are pre-determined. At some casinos, you may even see your total bonus round win added to your balance before the bonus game has ended. So, even though you decide which fish to pick, the outcome is still the same.
Conclusion
Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Splash is a worthy successor and a fantastic addition to the Fishin’ Frenzy slots series. The base game is not really that exciting, but the bonus game definitely is. Furthermore, the bonus trail and Pick A Fish feature make the bonus game last longer, which adds good entertainment value. All bonus enhancers are terrific. But if we had to add one missing piece to the puzzle it would be to add a fish upgrade enhancer. Or maybe every time you collect 4 fishermen on the bonus trail, the 2 lowest fish values are removed, like in The Big Catch and Even Bigger Catch games. But maybe Blueprint Gaming left that out on purpose for another upcoming slot in the series. Time will tell, and for now, we highly recommend playing this game.
