When having a look at other Pragmatic games, Fishin’ Reels comes in at the higher RTP bracket. The max win of 1,200x bet is a decent offering, although not as high as some of the more popular Big Bass Bonanza slots. Fishin Reels features a 5×3 grid with 10 pay lines, and betting stakes range from £0.10 – £100.00. What’s unique is that you can choose between 2 different bonus rounds: Reel It In or The Big Catch.
How to Play Fishin’ Reels Demo Slot
How to Play Fishin’ Reels Quick guide
Fishin’ Reels is a simple online slot game with a friendly animated fishing theme. First off, you don’t have an Extra Chance betting option. So, you won’t be tempted to spend more per bet. Secondly, there is no bonus buy option. So, you don’t have to contemplate skipping the base game for a pretty penny. All you have to do is pick a bet between £0.10 – £100.00 and start spinning the reels.
The game features a standard 5X3 slot grid which we’re used to from other fishing slots, such as: Fishin’ Frenzy and Big Bass Bonanza Keeping it Reel. You have 10 pay lines in the slot grid and wins are paid out from left to right. But the true potential for big wins lies in the bonus games.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
In the Fishin’ Reels slot game, there are 10 common symbols. Unlike other fishing slots we’ve covered in our game reviews, these symbols are divided into 3 groups: low-paying, medium-paying and high-paying symbols. First off, card suit symbols (diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades) replace the normal broadway symbols. And they are the low-paying symbols. Secondly, we have swim fins and diving masks that make up the medium-paying symbols. Lastly, we have starfish, prawns, frogs and fish that make up the high-paying symbols. On a side note, we have no idea why a frog is in a deep-sea fishing theme, but we just roll with it.
In order to generate a win, you need to land several matching symbols from left to right on pay lines. Three to five low-paying symbols will pocket you between 0.5x – 15x your bet, respectively. Medium symbols pay out between 1x – 20x, whereas high-paying symbols pay between 1.5x – 100x. Fish symbols are the top symbols in Fishin Reels. So, you only need 2 of them to generate a small 0.5x win.
Fishin’ Reels Special Symbols
In addition to common symbols, there are 3 special symbols: Wilds, Fishermen and Scatters. In the bonus games, special fish money symbols are added randomly to the reels too, which carry cash values.
Wild Symbol
The Wild symbol in Fishin’ Reels can substitute for all other symbols except the Scatter, Fishermen and Fish Money symbols. This symbol can appear only on reels 2, 3, and 4. Wilds can help complete winning combinations for extra wins.
Fisherman Symbol
The Fisherman symbol is another special symbol in this game. When it lands on reel 5, it collects all the cash values of any Fish Money symbols that land on reels 1-4.
Golden Marlin Bonus Symbol
The Golden Marlin is the scatter symbol in Fishin Reels. This symbol is the key to unlocking the game’s bonus features and can significantly enhance the player’s winnings. Landing 3-5 scatters will trigger the Free Spins bonus games.
Fishin Reels Bonus Games
The bonus round in Fishin’ Reels is a thrilling experience that can lead to significant wins. To trigger this round, you need to land three or more golden marlin symbols. Once activated, you’re transported to a new location where you have two bonus game options: The Big Catch mode or Reel It In. Each bonus game is unique and the former is more volatile.
The Big Catch
In The Big Catch bonus game, you play regular spins on a different reel set. The Big Catch symbols overlay on any reel, and landing three to five of these symbols triggers The Big Catch Fishing bonus. When the bonus feature is triggered, 8 fish are randomly selected and our trusted fisherman casts his reel to pull up a fish. Each fish carries a different win multiplier. Marlins carry the biggest prize value, while chum buckets carry the smallest value.
Each time you catch a fish, it disappears from the fish list. The Big Catch feature ends after you’ve caught eight fish. If you succeed in re-triggering the bonus by landing 3-5 overlays, you receive two extra free spins and another round of The Big Catch Fishing bonus.
Reel It In
The Reel It In bonus round introduces a unique Fisherman symbol and special Fish Money symbols. Similar to most fishing slots, when a fisherman and money symbols land together, then the fisherman will reel in their cash values.
The money symbols carry nine prize values in total: eight variations of win multipliers and one “+2 Free Spins” symbol. However, you collect the fish payouts only when both the Fish money symbols and a Fisherman land. Moreover, fish money symbols don’t pay out like common symbols on the pay lines.

Conclusion
After diving deep into the gameplay of Fishin’ Reels, it’s clear that the main attraction is the bonus games. We like that you can choose between two different bonus games. So, one time you can choose The Big Catch and another time you can roll with Reel It In. We would’ve liked to have seen a bigger max win, than 1,200x. But since there is no bonus trail or level upgrades, the max win fits the game’s setup. In conclusion, Fishin Reels is a nice average fishing slot that can offer a bit of entertainment, during a long slot session. So, why not give it a try and see if you can reel in some marlins?
