Rabid Randy is back this time, but instead of a rifle, he is using a fishing-rod. In Rabid Randy Gone Fishing you join the unhinged hunter on an non-relaxing fishing trip. If you have played the original Rabid Randy slot, then you will recognize the character. The slot game-play is built around Hook Wilds, walking re-spins, cash prizes, and topping it off with a progressive jackpot system.
When it comes to big win potential, the game only has a 2,591x max win. But overall this slot sits nicely between casual play and feature hunting. Being a medium volatility slot it does offer a lot of action. So carry on reading our review for a full breakdown of the slot mechanics and game features.

How To Play Rabid Randy Gone Fishing Demo
Rabid Randy slot has a classic fishing slot theme to it. You have a bearded fisherman sitting in his boat above the reels with his fishing line in the water waiting for a big catch. If you are new to the game, then we recommend starting in demo mode. This will let you learn how the Hook Wild mechanic works together with other symbols before playing for real money. All wins are paid from left to right.
Here is how to get started with Rabid Randy Gone Fishing:
- Set Your Bet – Choose a bet between £0.20 and £120 per spin.
- Spin the Reels – Hit the spin button, and watch the symbols land. Wins are paid out from left to right, on any of the 25 pay lines.
- Trigger Features – The key symbol is the Hook Wild on reel 1. When other special symbols land on the same row as it, then other bonus features can activate.
- Optional Feature Buy – If available at your casino, you can buy direct access to bonus features instead of waiting for them to trigger the natural way.
Winning Combinations & Payouts
As expected, the premium symbols deliver the biggest base game wins, while most of the game’s better payouts come from features. You need at least 3 matching symbols on a pay line to form a winning combination.
- Low Value Symbols: 4 types of wilds, Car battery. All of these are worth 25x for 5 on a line.
- High Value Symbols: Tire, Can of worms, Bottle, Leech, Snail, Tadpole and Crawfish are on the bottom end of the paytable. The tire is worth 12.5x and Crayfish 1.5x for 5 on a line.
Special Symbols
Rabid Randy Gone Fishing uses a row-based feature system where most bonuses are triggered when symbols line up with the Hook Wild on reel 1. Here are 5 special symbols you can find in the slot game.
Walking Wild Re-Spins (Hook Wild)
The Hook Wild appears only on reel 1 and is the trigger for almost every feature in the game. When it lands, Walking Wild Re-Spins are triggered. If Free Spins or a Jackpot game starts during Re-Spins, then the Re-Spins pause and continue afterwards.
Cash Prize Symbol
Appear on reels 2, 3 and 4, during both the base game and Free Spins. When a cash prize lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, it pays a random cash value ranging from 0.5x – 15x your bet.
Jackpot Symbol
Appears only on reel 5. When it lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, it triggers the special Jackpot game where you have a chance to win one of 5 jackpot prizes.
Chest Symbol
Chests also appear only on reel 5. When a chest lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, the chest feature activates. Any chest can award either free spins, cash prizes or a jackpot prize.
Scatter Symbol
The scatter symbol is another symbol that only lands on reel 5. In the base game, when it lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, it triggers 7 free spins. Additional scatters give 3 extra spins during a free spins bonus round.
Additional Wild Symbols
There are 3 additional wild symbols in the game. When certain wild symbols land on the same row as a Hook Wild, one of the following features is triggered.
- Horizontal Wild – Fills all positions horizontally between the Hook Wild and the Horizontal Wild with wild symbols.
- Vertical Wild – When a Vertical Wild symbol lands on a reel, the whole reels turns into wild symbols.
- Random Wild – Triggers two random wilds to appear anywhere on the reels.
Rabid Randy Gone Fishing Free Spins & Features
The Free Spins are triggered when a Scatter symbol appears on reel 5 on the same row as a Hook Wild on reel 1. To start you off you get 7 Free Spins. The Hook Wild then expand in the Free Spins and cover the full leftmost reel. If a Scatter lands or you get one through the Chest feature you will get another 3 extra spins.
If the Jackpot game triggers during Free Spins the Free Spins feature is paused, but will resume again when the Jackpot round ends. You can also still trigger the Walking Wild Re-Spins during Free Spins.
Jackpot Game
Rabid Randy Gone Fishing also includes a progressive Jackpot system. The Jackpot symbol can only land on reel 5. When it lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, it then activates the Jackpot game. This is then played by tapping “Tap to Fish!” and awards 3 to 5 Cash Prizes with random values ranging from 0.25x up to 2,500x your bet. The round ends with either a standard payout or a progressive Jackpot win.
There are five progressive Jackpots in the game: Mini, Midi, Mega, Super and Giga. Each spin contributes a small portion of the bet to these Jackpots. There is no upper limit on how high the Jackpots can grow, and the chances of winning depends on your bet size. Only one Jackpot can be won per round. This system is similar to Rapid Fire Jackpot slots.
Chest Feature
Chests can also appear on reel 5. When a chest lands on the same row as a Hook Wild, the chest feature is activated. You are then randomly awarded one of the following:
- Free Spins
- Jackpot game
- Cash Prize up to 100x your bet.
Feature Buy & Elevate Features
If the Feature Buy option is available at your online casino, then you can buy your way into bonus content by paying a set multiple of your bet.
Elevate Features can be activated for a higher bet. These increase feature frequency rather than guarantee a specific outcome.
- Hooked Spins: This boosts the chances of triggering Re-Spins, Cash Prizes, Chests, Free Spins, and the Jackpot game. It does so by guaranteeing that one Hook Wild appears on every spin for a set period.
- Jackpot Fishing: Triggering the Jackpot game instantly, without playing a main game spin first. One Cash Prize is guaranteed. And you also has the chance to win one of the five progressive Jackpots.

Conclusion
Rabid Randy Gone Fishing is a feature-packed fishing slot that feels a bit chaotic, but in a good way. The game does not rely on big line wins.
