Red Hot Catch by Blueprint Gaming is not a classic fishing slot in the usual sense. There is no calm lake, fisherman in a boat, or friendly bass waiting to be reeled in. Instead, this one drops us into the fiery pits of hell with a little devil character, treasure chests, burning modifiers, and fish cash symbols waiting to be collected. Who would believe that river of souls has fish in it? But in this slot there sure are some valuable fish swimming around.
The collect symbol can land on the outer reels, expanding, and gathering all visible fish on the screen. Thus, Red Hot Catch is a modern fishing slot, even if the theme is out of the norm. Red Hot Catch is a feature-heavy slot which is very common with Blueprint Gaming slots. You get cash collections, free spins, win multipliers, bonus modifiers and more. Do you want to see if the devil is a good fisherman? Then carry on reading our review below and play our free demo game.

Red Hot Catch uses a 5-reel setup with 20 pay lines. The listed top RTP is 94%, which is on the weak side of slots. Blueprint also has lower versions at 93%, 92%, and 90%, so should always check the version before playing. Maxi win potential is only 3,000x your bet. So, that is a bit low for a fishing slot. But this medium volatility slot makes up for it with lots of features and frequent small wins.

How To Play Red Hot Catch Demo Slot
Red Hot Catch offers a unique twist on modern fishing slots. We are used to bearded fishermen casting their lines and nets to reel in fish. We’ve even seen sharks swim across our screens munching on fish. But we’ve never seen a devil fishing. So, this game offers a fresh theme.
The base game is easy to follow once you get used to all the pay symbols. Matching symbols from left to right, across the 20 pay lines, will give you a win. Regular line wins are smallish, but they’re not the main attraction. Your main goal is to trigger cash collections with collector and fish symbols. Here is a quick playing guide to get your started.
- Set Your Bet & Spin: Choose a stake between £0.10 and £100, then spin the reels and look for line wins across the 20 pay lines.
- Watch for Cash Symbols: Fish symbols carry cash values. These can be collected when a Collect symbol lands at the same time.
- Land the Collect Symbol: The devil symbol is the Collector and he can land on reels 1 and 5. When a devil symbol lands, it expands and collects all values from fish symbols.
- Look for Treasure Chests: Bonus symbols are collected in the treasure chests above the reels and can trigger Red Hot Spins or one of the bonus upgrades.
- Express Bet: If available in your region, Express Bet increases your stake by 20% and improves your chances of triggering a bonus. So, it’s the equivalent of an Ante Bet that we’e familiar with from other game providers.
Now that you’ve learned the basics, it’s time to play our free Red Hot Catch demo slot below. See how the collect feature, Devil’s Reel, and Red Hot Spins work.
Winning Combos & Payouts
Red Hot Catch uses a simple paytable. You get low-paying card symbols and higher-paying underworld-style symbols. Like most collect slots, the normal line wins are there to keep the reels ticking along while you wait for cash symbols, collect symbols, and bonus upgrades.
- Low Value Symbols: The lower-paying symbols are J, Q, K, and A. Payouts range from 0.5x – 2.5x.
- High Value Symbols: The higher-paying symbols include a goblet, book, dice, and a red 77 symbol. Payouts range from 1x – 25x.
Special Symbols
In addition to 8 common symbols, there are also special symbols: Wilds, Collectors, Scatters and Cash symbols.
Wild Symbol
Wild symbols can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. They substitute for regular paying symbols to help form winning combos. They do not carry any win multipliers or their own payouts.
Collect Symbol
Devils are the collector symbols and they can land on reels 1 and 5. If they land together with cash symbols, then they expand the full reel and collect all cash values.
Cash Symbol
Fish symbols carry cash values which are collected by devils. Special Cash symbols have a small reel inside. If collected, they trigger the Devil’s Reel feature.
Bonus Scatter Symbols
Scatter symbols can trigger Red Hot Spins in 2 ways. You can either land at least 3 scatters on the reels or you they get collected in a treasure chest above the reels which can randomly trigger at any time.
Express Bet (Ante Bet)
Express Bet increases your stake by 20% and improves the chance of triggering the bonus game. It is not a feature buy, but more of a bonus-chase option. As always, it also makes each spin more expensive, so it is something to use carefully.
Red Hot Catch Free Spins & Features
Red Hot Catch is very much a feature-first slot. The base game can collect cash values and throw in random modifiers, but the bonus round is where the game gives you the main action. You have Hell Fire modifiers, a Devil’s Reel feature and of course the main feature, Red Hot Spins.
Hell Fire Modifiers
Hell Fire modifiers can randomly trigger when a coin symbol lands. These modifiers help the base game from feeling flat. You can trigger one of four possible modifiers:
Bonus Boost – adds extra scatter symbols to the reels.
Lucky Devil – adds extra collect and cash symbols to the reels.
Wild Devil – adds extra wild symbols to reels 2, 3 and 4.
Burn ’Em Up – changes a losing spin into a winning one.
If you’ve played The Goonies slots before, then you will recognize these modifiers, as they’re similar to Sloth’s features.
Devil’s Reel
This mini-feature triggers when a special cash symbol with a small reel inside is collected. Instead of just paying a normal cash value, this symbol starts a mini reel feature with an initial cash value. The reel then spins to reveal either another devil face or a pip symbol.
If another devil face lands, then the prize increases and the mini reel spins again. This can keep going on until the pip symbol lands and ends the feature. So, it’s similar to Reel King if you’re familiar with the game. Prize values can be smaller wins like 5x or 10x and up to much larger values. The top reward triggers a Super Bonus feature.
Red Hot Spins Bonus Feature
Red Hot Spins is the main bonus game. It start with 10 Hot Spins and keeps the same mechanics from the base game, including cash collections and modifiers. If a Treasure Chest feature triggers during the bonus, then you get 5 extra Hot Spins. Each Treasure Chest can unlock a different bonus upgrade too. When several upgrades are active together, Red Hot Spins can become much more lucrative than the base game.
Treasure Chest Upgrade Features
One or more bonus upgrades can be active depending on which Treasure Chest has triggered. These upgrades change how the free spins round plays. There are 5 different upgrades.
- Devil Fish: The Devil Fish upgrade adds a new cash symbol to the reels. This is a collector symbol that gets the total value of all cash symbols in view before it is collected.
- Cash Inferno: Changes the bonus by allowing only cash, scatter and collect symbols to land. Thus, the bonus round changes to only cash collection spins.
- Super Collect: Awards a win multiplier of up to 10x on every spin. This multiplier applies to cash symbols collected by the devils, but it does not apply to the Devil Fish symbol.
- Cash Boost: Increases cash symbol values by up to 5x.
- Devil’s Respin: Can trigger after the collect feature lands. It awards a re-spin with more cash, collect and scatter symbols. Any new symbols lock in place and another re-spin is awarded. The feature continues until no new symbols land.
Conclusion
The good part about Red Hot Catch is that it’s not a boring slot. The collect sequences and bonus features keep the game interesting. Moreover, being able to combine bonus upgrades adds a lot of potential for big wins. So, the slot is very lively.
Our only downside with this game is the maths. A 94% RTP is poor, and the 3,000x max win feels a bit low for a slot with this many moving parts. So, while Red Hot Catch has a fun look and a busy bonus system, it is not one of Blueprint’s strongest releases.
If you enjoy fishing slots, then it is worth trying. But if you want a proper fishing theme, higher RTP, or bigger win potential, there are better slots for you to find.
