Fish filling a net, goldfish outgrowing their bowls and puffers ready to pop. Cash pots slots give you something extra to watch above the reels. When these features activate, they can award cash prizes, free spins or upgrades for the bonus round.
However, the collections work differently between games. Some nets burst randomly, while others save fish for a fisherman to collect later. Below, we explain how they work, starting with the familiar Blueprint nets and Big Bass catches.

What Are Cash Pots Slots?
Cash pots slots collect symbols in pots, nets, bowls or similar displays around the reels. Fish or coins feed these features as you play. They can then activate for an instant prize, respins or a bonus game.
Nets are a popular choice among our fishing slots. However, some games use growing fish instead, while others have coloured pots linked to different bonus features. When several colours activate together, their features can combine in the same round.
Before playing, check whether the pot stores actual prizes, has a collection target or simply grows as an animation. A net might look ready to burst without being any closer to triggering. In games with random activation, its appearance does not tell you when a reward will arrive.
Also, fixed cashpot prizes are different from collection pots. Mini, Minor and Major labels can represent prizes without anything filling up above the reels. Likewise, a fisherman collecting fish on the current spin does not automatically make a game a pot slot.
Blueprint Gaming Cash Pots Slots
Fishin’ Frenzy Christmas brought the Festive Fishing net into the series. Fish symbols gather in the net above the reels, which can randomly burst. When it does, three fish drop down on hooks for you to choose from. Your pick can reveal free spins, instant cash collection, extra fish or Cash Streak respins. So, the net gives you another route to a feature alongside the usual bonus symbols. It does not simply pay every fish that has entered it.
Blueprint later added variations to Reely Big Catch, The Big Catch sequels, Gold Spins and other titles. Some change the rewards, while others give the collection a different look.
The Big Match for example use footballs. Several versions have the net available from the start. However, others make you unlock it through their collector trail. In Even Bigger Fish 2, reaching Super Catch unlocks Catch of the Day. Uncollected cash and can of worms symbols can then enter the net.
Meanwhile, Even Bigger Fish 3 Megaways unlocks its Big Catch Net after four collects. The pick feature here can add collectors, spins or open a prize wheel.
Fishin’ Frenzy, Big Catch Even Bigger Bass 2 also sends uncollected fish into a net. This can randomly activate a Pick a Fish feature alongside its collectors and Big Splash bonus. Despite the name being similar, this belongs to Big Catch family, which is separate from Big Bass Bonanza. Find our reviews and demos here below.
Big Bass Bonanza Keepin’ It Reel
Usually, fish that land without a fisherman are a missed catch. Big Bass Bonanza Keepin’ It Reel gives them another chance during free spins. Uncollected fish move into the Fish Net Prize Pot, where their values remain available for a later collection.
However, you need the golden fisherman to catch them. When he lands, he collects the net’s prizes alongside any fish on the reels. The regular fisherman only collects the fish on the grid, leaving the net for his golden colleague.
There is a catch, though. Fish can escape as the round continues, taking their values with them. Therefore, the pot can shrink as well as grow while you wait. And unlike Blueprints nets, this one stores the values instead of triggering than opening a pick feature. It adds another thing to watch during the bonus, for all that valuable fish that have managed to slip past the regular fisherman.
More Fishing Slots with Collection Pots
Other developers use growing fish, multiple nets and coloured feature pots. The following games offer different rewards, from surprise jackpots to several bonus upgrades arriving together. Find reviews and demos of these down below.
Gold Fish Feeding Time Treasure and Deluxe Treasure
Light & Wonder’s Gold Fish Feeding Time Treasure puts coloured fish in bowls above the reels. Matching feeder symbols feed each fish, and an activated bowl opens its associated bonus feature. The colours give different extras, including extra spins, wilds and jackpot coins. More than one can activate together, giving you several features in the same bonus. So which bowls trigger matters, not just getting the bonus itself to trigger.
Gold Fish Feeding Time Deluxe Treasure keeps the growing fish and adds mixed-colour feeders. These support combinations of bonus features, bringing different effects together during the round. Both games make the bowls a central part of the action, with each colour offering something different.
Amazing Catch Power Combo and Cold Rush
Amazing Catch Power Combo uses coloured tokens connected to three bonus modifiers. Giant Reels expands the grid, Multi Collect adds collectors, and Cash Reel fills one reel with money symbols. These modifiers can trigger separately or together. So you might start free spins with a larger grid, more collectors or several upgrades active at once. Instead of building a single cash total, the collection changes how the bonus plays.
Amazing Catch Cold Rush Power Combo adds synced reels, which show matching symbols on linked reels. Further modifiers can also activate during the bonus and award extra spins. So, the features you start with are not all you potentially will get.
Big Fishing Net Fortune Triple Hit Combo
Inspired’s Big Fishing Net Fortune Triple Hit Combo puts three nets above reels one, three and five. These provide another way to trigger the bonus, and more than one can activate together.
Once the feature starts, a big fish stays on the reels while you wait for the fisherman. Spins continue until he catches it. So, the nets start the feature, while the eventual catch finishes it. Having several nets also means you have more than one collection to watch above the reels.
Bass Brothers
Bass Brothers sends uncollected cash and jackpot symbols into its Bonus Collection meter. This can randomly activate a bonus spin, which can add more prize symbols to the reels.
Instead of paying a pot total, the feature brings another opportunity to collect prizes on the grid. It also gives cash symbols a role when they land without a collector. The meter receives them, and a later activation can put more prizes back into play.
4 Fantastic Fish Puffer Pots
The six pufferfish above the reels act as the pots in 4 Fantastic Fish Puffer Pots. Qualifying symbols feed them, and they can pop on any spin. When three or more pop together, they trigger Puffer Respins.
During the feature, cash symbols lock in place. Meanwhile, the pots can open extra reels or add more cash symbols. Their effects therefore change both the space available and the prizes on the grid. The puffers remain involved after triggering the bonus, rather than leaving everything to a fisherman.
Bubblin’ Riches
Play’n GO’s Bubblin’ Riches features a goldfish above the reels with a taste for coins. When coin symbols land, the goldfish can randomly award one of four fixed jackpot prizes.
Alongside this, the game has Lock’n Gold respins and a separate free spins feature. Therefore, the goldfish can provide a surprise prize without you needing to enter either bonus first. Its growing appearance fits the collection theme, but it does not tell you when a jackpot will arrive.
Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold Power Combo
Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold Power Combo uses three pots connected to Extra Rows, More Flynn and Bigger Fish. Each affects a different part of the free spins round. Extra Rows expands the grid, More Flynn adds collectors, and Bigger Fish improves fish values. The modifiers can combine, giving you more space, better fish prizes and more fishermen to catch them. This makes the pots worth watching for their individual effects and the combinations they can produce.
Razor Shark Jackpots
Razor Shark Jackpots adds a Shark Pot above the reels. When it activates, you enter a jackpot feature and collect tokens towards five fixed jackpot prizes. The pot provides a separate feature alongside the shark action. However, make sure you choose the right version. This addition belongs to Razor Shark Jackpots, so you will not find the same Shark Pot in the original Razor Shark.
Cash Pots Slots FAQ
Yes, in games with random activation. The animation does not necessarily show how close you are to a reward. Check the rules for any actual collection targets.
No. The net appears in specific versions, including Reely Big Catch, The Big Catch 3 and the Christmas games that we covered above. Other titles use different collection systems.
No. A pot can trigger free spins, modifiers or respins instead of paying a jackpot. A fixed jackpot can appear in a game without any growing collection pot.
A pot feature does not automatically mean a higher RTP. Its prizes form part of the overall return. Check the RTP of the version at your casino, because different settings can exist.

Our View on Cash Pots Slots
The Fishin’ Frenzy nets are a good starting point if you enjoy surprise picks and several possible rewards. The Gold Fish Feeding Time and Puffer Pots put the growing fish as the main feature of the bonus features. Keepin It Reel does something different by collecting missed catches for the golden fisherman to collect instead.
We like that these collections add variety between the usual spins and bonuses. However, the feature behind the pot matters more than how it looks. Choose the mechanics you enjoy, rather than a just a net visuall that seems ready to burst at any point although it is random. You can find more details about the individual titles in our game reviews.
