Octopus and squid slots often use tentacles instead of the usual fisherman to collect cash fish. They can also grab symbols, open treasure chests, spread ink or drag useful symbols onto the reels.
Some games keep the octopus or squid friendly. Others turn the creature into the Kraken and send it after ships and sailors. So, there is a good mix between colourful underwater slots and much darker games from the deep.
Below you can find the octopus, squid and Kraken games reviewed on FishingSlots.co.uk. We have also included a few broader fishing slots where tentacles control a proper feature. Simply appearing as a low-paying symbol is not enough to enter the tentacle club.

What Are Octopus Slots?
Octopus slots are online casino games where an octopus, squid or Kraken forms part of the main theme or gameplay. Most take place underwater, around a sunken ship or somewhere in the depths of the sea. The octopus or squid normally acts as a helper or modifier. Its tentacles can grab symbols, change reel positions, open treasure chests or collect prizes. Ink is another obvious feature used by several of these games.
However, not every game takes a friendly cartoon route as the theme. Kraken’s Catch and Beast Below is more into the darker sea-monster vibe. Meanwhile, Octopus Treasure and Colossal Splash Ink and Win are a much brighter type pf slots.
Different Octopus Slot Bonus Features
Octopus games do not have one standard bonus setup. That is actually one of the better things about the theme, you get some variety with ink and tentacles.
Tentacle Grabs and Symbol Changes
Octo Attack makes the octopus the star of the whole game. Winning clusters leave Ink Stains behind on the grid. When the Eye of Otto lands, the Tenta-Grab feature picks a symbol and changes every inked position into that symbol. The two Free Spins modes keep those Ink Stains active for longer. Give Me Eight is the stronger round because Otto only grabs Wilds, multiplier Wilds or Free Spins symbols. It is a clever feature and easily one of the most octopus-like mechanics on this page.
Big Bass Floats My Boat and the 4 Fantastic Fish games are not pure octopus slots. However, both make proper use of tentacles as reel modifiers. In Big Bass Floats My Boat, the purple octopus can reshuffle symbols, add a missing Scatter, bring in cash fish or drag a Fisherman onto the reels. Meanwhile, the 4 Fantastic Fish games use a Giant Squid that picks up and rearranges symbols across the grid.
Ink Features and Hot Zones
Colossal Splash Ink and Win does exactly what the title suggests. The octopus splash ink on the grid and creates Colossal Mystery Symbols. These can cover several reel positions before changing into one matching symbol. The octopus becomes stronger in the Ink & Win feature. It marks Hot Zones on the grid and collects the fish that land inside them. The octopus can then increase its value and add more Hot Zones.
Octo Attack also uses ink, but in a completely different way. Its Ink Stains mark previous winning positions and give the Tenta-Grab feature somewhere to target. Both games use the same idea, but the mechanics do not feel like they are copied.
Treasure Chests and Reel Modifiers
Octopus Treasure octopi is more of a helping treasure hunter. Key symbols let the octopus unlock one of four chests above the reels. Each chest activates Wild Coins, Gold Pile, Treasure Grab or Wild Reels. The Treasure Spins round starts with only three spins. However, every spin activates a modifier, while more Keys can add extra spins. It is a busy little bonus and far more interesting than simply waiting for three Scatters and hoping for the best.
Ocean’s Treasure goes for a more traditional Free Spins feature. Wilds fill a Level Meter and increase the win multiplier as you climb through five levels. Reach the final level and the Kraken appears with a fixed prize. It is an older type of setup that we have seen in various forms in many slots, the level progression still gives the bonus somewhere to go.
Kraken Wilds and Collectors
Kraken games usually make the creature darker. In Kraken’s Catch, the Eye of the Kraken appears on reel five. It collects the visible Fish and Fisherman totals into one combined payout. The game still uses familiar fishing collection mechanics, but the Kraken gives it a different identity compared to regular fishing slots.
Kraken’s Sky Bounty takes the theme into the clouds with pirates and airships. Its Kraken is a Wild, while framed areas can turn into one large expanding Wild. During Free Spins, the frame grows as you collect Scatters.
Beast Below is the darkest themed game here. The Kraken appears through the Scatter symbols, while the bonus rounds focus on expanding Siren and Diver Wilds. The monster does less reel grabbing than Otto. Still, the deep-sea danger theme is probably one of the cooler ones on this page.
Octopus and Squid Multipliers
Oxygen is a slightly different case, the review also covers Oxygen 2 and Oxygen 3 which features tentacles. The original game focuses on cascading clusters and multipliers. However, Oxygen 2 adds an Octopus that holds and boosts multiplier positions. It can also become persistent during the Super Bonus. Oxygen 3 then brings in a Squid that creates a Wild before moving to another position. The series is not a pure octopus slot. Still, the Octopus and Squid features do enough work to earn it a place in the wider collection.
